2013 Hollywood Blockbusters and Hashtags

A lot of fans are set to see some of their favorite stars in theatres soon.

Many of the movies shown or to be shown in 2013 are sequels of successful franchises, most particularly revolving around comic book heroes. There are also a number of original concepts that will excite viewers.

Here are the hashtags for some of the highest-grossing films (as predicted by cinema experts) for 2013.

Let’s have a peek at how their hashtags did at their highest or how they are doing so far in the past three months.

1. #DisneyOz

The widely popular “Oz the Great and Powerful” has its own hashtag where fans share a lot of facts and positive reviews. The movie came out 74 years after “The Wizard of Oz” (starring Judy Garland) and reaped in over 84 million dollars. People can view useful information about the movie through shared links on Twitter.

2. #ManOfSteel

The hashtag was created in anticipation of the much-awaited Superman movie in June 2013 which stars Henry Cavill. Fans of the superhero will enjoy reading facts and watching previews via the uploaded videos and links on the hashtag.

3. #IronMan3

Many are also looking forward to the third sequel of the Iron Man series. The movie still stars the charismatic Robert Downey, Jr. and the conversation invites people to share their own links and fan photos. Asian countries saw Iron Man 3 ahead of the West, so if you haven’t seen it yet, beware of spoilers.

4. #Wolverine

Another upcoming superhero film that fans are excited to see in 2013 is “The Wolverine”, which still stars Hugh Jackman. The popularity of the X-Men series spurred Marvel to come up with a stand-alone version of its most famous character. Fans compare their thoughts on the storyline.

The second sequel of Thor will also be coming to theatres in 2013. The hashtag was created for fans to discuss possible conflicts between the never-ending duel between Thor and Loki. Fans also share pictures and other links regarding the superhero and Chris Hemsworth.

As the second movie in the series “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” draws closer, movie enthusiasts came up with the hashtag for people to discuss the different characters as well as exchange media content. Many compare how the film depicts the events in the actual book, so if you haven’t read the book yet and want to be surprised when the film comes out, don’t take the comments too seriously.

The second movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Jim Carrey. Fans share their excitement as well as personal opinions about the movie.

8. #AfterEarth

Fans of the father-and-son tandem of Will and Jayden Smith share their anticipation of the sci-fi film “After Earth”, wherein they play characters who are left in lonely planet Earth. Fans share the official trailer as well as their own thoughts about M. Night Shyamalan.

9. #TheCroods

The hashtag features fan art and other details about the new film from DreamWorks. Fans compare how “The Croods” fares against the other successful creations by the animation company and talk about their own take on the uniqueness of the characters.

10. #FastSix

A lot of fans are looking forward to the sixth sequel of the “Fast and the Furious” series. The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Luke Evans. People share a lot of car photos in the conversations and exchange their views on how the plot might turn out.
