SoundTracking Adds Hashtag Support

July 15, 2013
soundtrackingSoundTracking (@SoundTracking) recently introduced an update that adds to the app?s functionality. Users can expect a variety of new improvements such as song requests, support for new languages, song dedications and best of all, hashtag support to search for trending topics. The updates are generally provided to boost search and discovery. According to Schematic Labs CEO Steve Jang, the company is looking for ways to generate income through premium music features. For now, SoundTracking?aims to improve its overall use and guide users in finding their type of music. In the meantime, the app earns through affiliate transactions with RDIO and iTunes for subscriptions and download sales. The company found it very helpful to incorporate hashtag support, after they observed how frequent social media users use these nowadays. Individuals were using hashtags in SoundTracking?which spurred them to finally give support for it. With the introduction of hashtags in the app, individuals can easily interact, discuss and search for songs and music updates. Focusing on discovery seems to be the most viable solution in competing with other music apps. With hashtags, people can quickly share music and information as well as recommend it to their friends and contacts in a dynamic social media environment. Currently, SoundTracking?users share and interact with an average of 127 songs per second. According to Jang, the company capitalizes on its mobility and outstanding features. The app can help music lovers stay aware of new albums, songs and artists, share new singles or pre-order through iTunes. Hashtags make it easier for emerging artists and listeners to stay connected.
