Boston Commuters Tweet Complaints With #MBTAannoy

October 8, 2012
If you're a Boston commuter, you can get real-time updates from other users through #MBTAannoy. People who take the MBTA will certainly have something to say about their daily commute -- and it will definitely help others in the community if they know what's happening before they consider hopping on. Some of the known problems include overcrowded stations and buses, poor ventilation, filthy and eyesore areas and bathrooms, beggars, pickpockets, thieves and noisy or stinky passengers. For several years, the people of Boston have been taking the subway to go everywhere. To possibly serve as a wakeup call to officials, the hashtag #MBTAannoy has been created on Twitter where people can share virtually anything that has been a nuisance to them whenever they ride trolley cars or wait at stations. Sage Luce (@sluce72) is the first Twitter users to use the hashtag #MBTAannoy. She tweeted: Here are the other tweets on the hashtag. There are also posts about complaints on subway staff, facilities and equipment. Hopefully, these tweets will spur the proper agencies and individuals to start making adjustments and improvements to make commuting more bearable to Boston residents and visitors at least. The topic continues to be active on the website with more posts being added daily.
