User registration is currently disabled without a Twitter or Google+ account.

To register and sign in with Twitter or Google+, click the LOGIN tab just under the Search box/menu in the upper right-hand corner of this screen. Then click either the G+ or Twitter icons to authenticate your account.

Since you are registering through your social media account, you will need to sign in with those credentials after registering (email and password pair will not work).
