When i tweet with a hashtag, it will work if it is a simple tweet. But if i add a link to my blog, or a web link to some other webpage, the tweet will go out, but it doesnt show up on the hashtag. I have checked my settings (set to public). I am leaving space between words and #. Please help. My twitter is @debfraleigh

A hashtag requires that there be NO spaces between the # symbol and the letters/numbers.
This is a hashtag: #hashtag
This is NOT a hashtag: # hashtag
Send a link to the exact tweet in your timeline so we can look at it.

Same here. Except for the fact that, that I am NOT leaving any space between the tag, Ie:
The Kitchen Renovation Of An Italian Villa [URL] #architecture #interiordesign
I am forwarding from Tumblr. Could that be the problem? (I don’t think so, as yesterday I had one tweet which suddenly worked and was under Top of #Architecture, and could be seen under #Interiordesign. Hence, some work, and some don’t. I would love if you could help. Please !!! Been going on for five days now (And my media settings are just fine, non-ticked.)

Same thing is happening with me, and I use hootsuite. I contacted their support to see if it is when the url is shortened (to an ow.ly url). If I hear anything useful, I will post!

Anybody heard anything or found a reason/solution?
I am new to Twitter, but having made the leap, I am very excited by it’s potential, however having now dabbled with hashtags, I too have found them not working for me. I have tried #xmas and #christmas but when I’ve checked the hashtag listing, mine do not appear, which is very perplexing, as I am just reaching out, or not with the results I’m having.
I would love an answer and a solution to this. Tweets can be seen @stiffard

Same issue – noticed it as an issue for at least the past week, if not longer. Using hashtag format properly on a public profile. Each tweet does also include a tinyurl link. These are tweets for jobs with a link to the job posting and hastags used for relevant words (i.e. #startup). Here’s an example:

I’ve just come across this problem after having posts from tumblr being sent to my linked twitter account. After searching my custom hashtag and having nothing come up I posted with the same hashtag directly from twitter and only that one post shows up.
Formatting is correct, twitter doesn’t recognise ANY of the tags I use in tumblr posts. In fact, I’m questioning if my posts come up at all in searches.
… I just did a test, I made up two random ‘tags’ and searched them on twitter to make sure there were no other posts with those tags, I then created a new image post on tumblr and put the two new tags in the twitter text box, one before [IMG] and one after for good measure.
The posted published to my twitter but neither of the two phrases came up in searches.
There is an issue with the text in posts from tumblr being detected as text or being searched in twitter.
