Food micro-blogging just got more tasty with the hashtag #StreetFeastsUSA. Food Network UK is set to start a digital marketing campaign and will partner with 15 street food vendors to promote a new series of 'Andy Bates American Street Feasts.' Holler, the digital ad specialist, came up with the campaign idea of asking clients to tweet a picture and share details about food they bought from among the 15 vendors. The hashtag #StreetFeastsUSA will be used on Twitter where fans can constantly monitor the events. Every seller will be providing 20 free lunches throughout the week, and these will be judged according to the provided images and descriptions on Twitter. The Food Network website will showcase the tweets and images via an interactive map that highlights every time a user shares the details on his or her chosen street food. Each vendor will also be featured and promoted on the Facebook page of Food Network UK, as well as other social media platforms. After the first episode, Andy Bates (@eatmypies), the renowned chef and pie specialist, will go to the food vendor who garnered the highest number of social media posts on the interactive food map. Bates will also be part of a Twitter question and answer activity at the launch of the show on October 8 6:30 pm. The 'Andy Bates American Street Feasts' TV series will have 15 episodes in all, with each episode running for 30 minutes. Bates will be shown going all across the United States to discover the best street food in the country. The interactive map will continue to guide individuals on the best street food throughout the country. Food bloggers will also be encouraged to forward their own picks for the best street food vendors and stalls to be included in the top 100 list. Food Network UK indicated that it will be the first time that street food will be featured as a genre. The channel will play a major role of introducing the genre and help people appreciate the local culture more.
