BlockbusterRCT describes a blockbuster randomized control trial with results that demonstrate a particular intervention has a high degree of effectiveness. The term was used to describe the results of arigorous scientific study that compared outcomes for students who worked with Bottom Line advisors and a control group that did not.

BlockbusterRCT was used to paraphrase a quote by Kim Cassel, the director of Evidence-Based Policy at Arnold Ventures, which funded a randomized control trial (RCT) that documented the significant impact of Bottom Line advising for students who graduated from college at signficantly higher rates than a control group. The author Bob Sullivan included this quote in an article published by Arnold Ventures: “In this field, to get an impact of this magnitude, that’s blockbuster,” Cassel said.
