The purpose of this hashtag is to drum up enough public pressure to compel Bill and Hillary Clinton to finally address the longtime allegations that former President, Bill Clinton, raped Juanita Broaddrick. (http://***
As an American citizen, I am extremely uncomfortable that a possible rapist will awarded with at least 4 more years in the White House even though not in an official or elected capacity.
For the purpose of full disclosure, although I (the creator of this hashtag) voted for Bill Clinton in '92, I have voted Republican in every election since then and I am now a member of the TEA Party. Many will automatically see this hashtag and my center-right political affiliation as "proof" that I have started this campaign out of vindictiveness, which could not be further from the truth. Presidents and other elected officials (of both parties) come-and-go, as do elections, and I except loses.
However, the breathtaking allegations made by Juanita Broaddrick in her 1999 Dateline interview are something not of the ordinary and not the usual politics. Juanita Broaddrick was someone who did not make one dime (as far as I know) off of her allegations -- no books, no made-for-tv-movies, and I think that I recall reading that her coming forward eventually strained her marriage winding up in divorce. In other words, she had everything to lose yet still she came forward.
I recall media and pundits (MSM and those clearly on the center-left) ignoring the interview and blowing it off as that 1) what can they do with (then) 20-year old allegations whose legal statute of limitations had passed, and 2) their stated belief that Americans were sexcapaded-out after the Lewinsky and the attempt to impeach Pres. Clinton. The reporter/pundit on the Left that I recall being mystified by his associates attitude was Richard Cohen of the Washington Post (and who I admire) who asked (as best as I can recall and possibly paraphrasing): "Am I the only one who realizes that someone just accused the President of rape?"
Ignoring it, and the excuses given in ignoring, disgusted me at the time and still do to this day. I do not know if Juanita Broaddrick was telling the truth because I was not a witness (of course), but she seemed VERY believable in the interview and like I pointed out earlier -- she had nothing to gain from it.
I believe that it is time that both Bill AND Hillary Clinton address this issue, and that the generation of Americans born since then be introduced to the allegations and the Dateline interview of Juanita Broaddrick -- especially since there is a reported "epidemic" of rape going on at college campuses across America. Shouldn't today's college students see the interview and judge for themselves?
It is not just Bill Clinton that should be made to respond to the allegations, but also Hillary since she can possibly be the next President of our nation. And with the slandering Democrat allegations of a GOP "War Against Women," isn't it time that Hillary be made to address her husband's own possible violence against women?
Juanita Broaddrick also believed (according to open letter that she wrote a few years after her Dateline interview) that she believed that Hillary knew what had happened. (http://***
My questions are -- 1) Does Hillary believe Juanita Broaddrick? 2) What did Hillary know, and 3) When did she know it?
Hillary Clinton has a good chance of being our next elected Presidents. Americans should know what she and Bill have to say about Juanita Broaddricks' allegations.
