It was founded by local doctors who imagined a health insurance company that puts a patient’s health first – not corporate profits. Evergreen Health offers quality, affordable health insurance plans for individuals and families in Maryland. We also offer group plans for businesses with employees who live or work in Maryland. Like other carriers, we offer medical health insurance coverage and prescription drug coverage for individuals and families in Maryland as well as group plans for small and large businesses. We are also Maryland’s only non-profit health insurance cooperative, a CO-OP. This means that our Board of Directors includes members of Evergreen Health. It means we reinvest our profits back into our company and back into better coverage and better benefits. We answer to our members, not corporate shareholders.
