A Hero of Hull will have served as a civilian (fishing, munitions worker, docker, merchantman, aircraft construction, bus driver, volunteer, Timber Jill, Home Guard etc), a member of the civil forces (Police, Fire, Civil Defence, Ambulance Service etc) or the Armed Services (Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines etc). A Hero of Hull will have worked, lived, or have been born in Greater Hull, comprising Beverley, Haltemprice, Holderness or Kingston upon Hull.
