This a plea to preserve the beautiful land and sea vistas of my home state Massachusetts. The Bay State character and charm is greatly disrupted when 450 foot wind turbines are erected. Sensible energy creation and usage solutions are needed to achieve renewable energy goals. Texas and California are states where wind is more sensible due to the vast barren, desolate spaces they contain. Wind industrial farms can be erected in these vast spaces far from population and the coastlines of these states. Texas has spaces the size of Massachusetts with nothing but dirt and tumbleweeds, thus the reason they lead in wind energy. It's not because the Texans care more, it's because it's a very sensible solution for their state. California is not erecting wind turbines in their beautiful beach cities or ocean, they understand its foolish and offensive to many of their citizens. Massachusetts should achieve goals of energy conservation with geothermal, insulation, roof solar (not farmers' fields) and tidal power. These solutions employ local tradesman, an excellent bonus. Texas and California have vast wastelands we have some of the best tides and currents in the world. Imagine the power passing through the Cape Cod Canal predictably every day of the year, harnessing this intelligently would provide incredible source of renewable energy. Let's lead like Massachusetts, not by installing other states solutions but by creating sensible appropriate solutions that do not harm our incredible landscapes and ocean views. JFK and Teddy worked diligently to preserve the beauty of Massachusetts, perhaps because they were born and raised here. As the current trustee's we should do the same! I understand someone alien to this state not appreciating its' wonderful nature, but we should not succumb to their aggression on its' grace! Let's do the sensible and right thing! 10,000 more wind turbines in this state will not change anything in the grand perspective, but break many locals hearts! #MassachusettsSensibleSolutions
