#MtP is about Meet the Press, a television show which debuted on November 6, 1947. Gallup Poll Number 361 on December 5, 1945 asked, "Do you know what television is?" Many didn't. I'm guessing none existed in Wyoming or South Dakota, for example. In 1951, one and a half million television sets existed in United States, a tenfold jump since the previous year. The purpose of this paragraph is to put into perspective what television was like when Meet the Press began.
