definition for: #pedlars

According to the dictionary pedlars means: "itinerant traders in small goods". I have grabbed the term temporarily as part of an art project. Merchants of Three Pedlars is the name of some remote rocks at the south end of the Mull of Kintyre. They are jutting out into the Irish Sea between Scotland and Ireland. I was born in Ireland, but I live in Scotland. I am a visual artist and all my work investigates the nature of personal identity. The idea that we are all "Pedlars" of who and what we are is the defining concept of my recent exhibition in Tighnabruaich Gallery - called, aptly enough, Merchants of Three Pedlars. Now I am planning a trip to the US and Canada - further refining the concept of self as Pedlar of what we are. The travelling project is called Merchants of Distant Pedlars.
