the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s First Research & Development “International Collaboration Conference” to be held on April 23-24, 2018, hosted by the Ministry of Education. As a core part of the Kingdom’s National Transformation Program, supported by funding of over $1.6 billion, the Ministry of Education has committed itself to radically advancing and transforming its national R&D capabilities in alignment with Vision 2030. Thus, the Ministry is hosting a conference that seeks to present opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s R&D ecosystem, with the aim of bringing together 200 of the world’s most inspiring researchers to discuss research collaboration opportunities with KSA universities in STEM fields. The Conference will provide the opportunity for international academic and industry researchers to gain a stronger understanding of the type of research currently undertaken in the Kingdom and the local R&D demands from an industry point of view. This Conference will generate momentum that will result in tangible outcomes such as preliminary joint research proposals.
