Elections for the Mayor of the City New Orleans, the New Orleans City Council , the Clerk of Orleans Civil District Court and other elected offices will take place on February 1, 2014. The City of New Orleans is experiencing a renaissance. In the aftermath of the destruction caused by storm factors outside of their control, the citizens have engaged in a rebuilding that has set a positive standard and example for the nation. However, many problems remain - reducing the level of crime, enhancing job opportunities, and fully funding worthy public initiatives, among others. It is with this fact in mind that citizens of New Orleans have begun to hold their elected officials to higher standards. The elections of 2014 will engage citizens from throughout the city and region as they seek solutions to the problems that stand between them and their families and a better quality of life. Citizens are encouraged to share their ideas relative to those things that must be done to make our city an even better place to live, work, and play. Your opinions and suggestions are encouraged.
