Twitter recently added its first female board member, Marjori Scardino on December 6, 2013. Although most people would believe that the micro-blogging site would include in its qualifications an avid social media user, Scardino is admittedly not an avid fan. She actually posted her very first tweet on the social media site only in December 5, 2013, thanking the group for giving her the opportunity. As of this writing, she has tweeted only once. This doesn't really come as a surprise. The fact is, some Twitter directors are not actually active Twitter users. They may have existing accounts, but tweets are rarely posted. However, the absence of frequent tweets also does not necessarily mean the absence of social media presence at all. Many Twitter directors tend to monitor and observe tweets and other social media activities to continually improve the service. Chairman Jack Dorsey (@jack) is the most active in the group with over 14,000 tweets. CEO Dick Costolo (@dickc) and co-founder Evan Williams (@ev) are at par with over 7,000 tweets. Peter Fenton (@peterfenton) has over 1,000 tweets. David Rosenblatt (@rosenblattdavid) and Peter Chernin (@PeterChernin) average 100 tweets at present. Peter Currie (@plscurrie) has a little over 50 tweets. Social media fans can directly communicate with Twitter board members. Jack Dorsey has been very active, communicating with users regarding new developments and updates on the network. Costolo usually tweets about new Twitter products and campaigns.
