Outage Brings iMessage Users To Twitter To Send Info

September 19, 2012
Although the system status on Apple seems to say that everything is doing all right, iMessage appears to be going through outages and problems in service. Apple users took to Twitter to spread the information and tweet about the various things they?re encountering with the system. Users requested others to retweet if they also have inconveniences with iMessage. The true cause is not fully identified, although the condition seems to stem from the servers at Apple. A number of users say that SMS text messages founded on wireless providers are actually successfully sent without further problems. There were no useful workarounds featured recently and Apple has not provided any more information regarding the circumstances. iMessage is the special application that Apple users enjoy compared to the usual SMS text messaging. Any person using Apple devices, like iPad, iPhone, Macbook or iPod Touch can send messages to each other using the Internet and not through the usual cellular phone networks. This is a great way for many to cut costs each month. iMessage is still available on the new iPhone 5. Users from the United States, United Kingdom, France, Canada and Afghanistan shared their own tweets regarding the service problem, with mixed responses. The latest information about the service difficulties started September 17 when posts containing the words 'iMessage' and 'My iMessage' became popular on Twitter. A few hours after, the system went back to normal, at least for some users. Here's a graph that shows the spike in the use of #iMessage on posts at about the time the outage happened and when the service disruption most likely got fixed. Whether or not the problem has fully been alleviated, Apple users immediately relied on the micro-blogging giant to spread the news and details. This can still be regarded as a form of text messaging since Twitter fans get to post up to a maximum of 140 characters per tweet. There doesn?t seem to be any connection with the recent introduction of the iPhone 5 and the server-related problems. A lot of people are looking forward to the innovative changes on the latest device, which is set for release on September 21.
