Twitter Reality TV Set To Go Live Soon

June 6, 2012
It appears Twitter is taking its TV exposure farther with rumors of an upcoming reality show in the works for its website. The company has yet to confirm talks, but several media outfits have quoted an insider as saying that Twitter reality TV's concept would be a lot similar to hits like MTV's The Real World or The Hills. Twitter has already made its foray into television, having been chosen as the official social media partner of NBC to the 2012 Olympics in London. In addition, the company has also collaborated with ESPN in May to create short videos ads on top-bill sporting events like the World Series and the Super Bowl. Advertising site AdWeek (@AdWeek) says the launch of the Twitter reality shows, yet to be given apt titles, could happen as early as fall. Twitter hasn't made anything official yet, but the unnamed source? has said that the project is as serious as serious gets. In fact, sponsorship deals linked with the planned reality shows could possibly go as high as $4 million. Now, that's something to look forward to! Of course, the quality of the content will greatly determine if the initiative works. But seeing how the public is highly supportive of Twitter's activities, it's likely to fly and generate a massive following (pun intended).
