Social Media Celebrates #MLKDay In Order To Remind The Nation Of His Legacy

January 20, 2015
He was a man who stood for more than just equal rights among minority groups. Rather than simply asking why all men and women were not being treated equally, he wanted to inspire those who?faced being discriminated. He wanted to show the world and those who are oppressed by inconsiderate people that they were the ones committing crimes through their violence and intolerance. This man was Martin Luther King Jr. and this?is why his ideals?are celebrated nationwide on #MLKDay every single?year. This inspirational figure from history continues to shine on through the world today which?could be seen across social media all day yesterday during #MLKDay.

While there was a large spike early on during the day, this could be because this wasn't a hashtag that was to be reused multiple times. It was more of an acknowledgement of the fact that it was #MLKDay and to make sure everybody kept that in mind as they?went about their day. Besides the limited use of the hashtags among individuals, there were plenty of related hashtags that drew away from #MLKDay while still celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. with different wording.
