Put weapon-sniffing k9s on the school grounds while - not instead of -- we hash out the gun-control question. They could locate weapons before they get into the school buildings. People inside the schools can't see the gun until it's outside the carrying case. Dogs don't need to see the gun. They'll help keep the weapons out of the buildings. Have them sniff as the students get off the buses and walk on to the school grounds. Have them roam the hallways and stick their noses into random classrooms. Cold noses and warm hearts could stop this insanity. One pup sniffed out a piece of TNT the size of a quarter. The FBI uses them Dogs don't have agendas. They don't care who you vote for. They don't preen and pose. They don't post or tweet. CNN? Fox? They don't care. Just give them a handful of dog treats and they'll wag their tails for the rest of the day. Or, we could just keep arguing while we dig some more graves and bury some more fifteen year-olds - who won't be able to become doctors to tend to the sick, engineers to design safer cars, researchers to cure diseases, and parents to raise our grandchildren...........
