Hey there! Thank you for taking interest in the "Hooded" social worker. Oftentimes, I find myself suffocated by the many "hoods" of disappointment put over our heads, in the midst of doing life changing work. Within the realms of social work there exists challenges in practicing cultural humility and mutual respect. The "blaming" mentality, is one of the greatest weapons used against us by our leaders, community partners and even our colleagues. Social work is more than a job, it's a social responsibility. Giving up is not an option for the true soldiers who walk the trenches daily. My hope is that through dialogue, this forum can serve as a safe space to talk about the challenges and progresses experienced by other professionals in the field. Unity and creative thinking will allow for the development of a groundbreaking virtual community that aims to bring social workers together nationwide. Stay tuned for more information on how to engage with the "Hooded" social worker to advance change within our very own systems.
