MHF is Modified Hydroflouric Acid. MHF is only infinitesimally different from Hydroflouric Acid and both are extremely dangerous. MHF is currently being used by the Torrance Refining Company in Torrance, California. In the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack, the potential exits for a vapor cloud to form which could kill and/or injure tens of thousands of people in the cities of Torrance, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Gardena, Lawndale, Compton, Wilmington, Carson, San Pedro, and Los Angeles. The Torrance Refinery Action Alliance advocates for a 100% ban on the use of MHF and/or HF by the Torrance Refinery.
