Jones Reserve in East Brunswick, Victoria, needs a public toilet. lack of public toilets mean that council expects us to: eat and drink through its BBQ areas, but has forgotten that what goes in, must come out. If theres no toilet, it will end up in the bushes or in the waterways. *They invite small children with small bladders to enjoy family gatherings & birthday parties, then expects them to develop bladder & bowel issues, and to become constipated. Constipation, which is still the main reason for emmergency visits to the royal childrens hospital! * council expects us to cook food, but have no way of excersicing basic sanitation. We all know that the Nr.1 factor in food related health risks is santitation, in particular hand washing, especially after toileting. *We are all expected to either defecate & urinate at the park and thus littering the area with tissues/paper, faeces and urine. Thus leaving a potential disease risk of infections. * we are expected increase environmental risks to the delicate local ecosystems & waterways, or run home and even avoid the park alltogether. *Elderely people, pregnant women, and all others who are at risk of incontinence are expected to either pee & poo in public, or avoid the park alltogether which could otherwise be a source of exercise and physical & mental wellbeing. *They expect people who exercise, whether by playing basketball at the half court or walking their dogs in the dog park, to somehow not have their bladder or bowel stimulated by exercise. Exercise is one of the main recommendation by doctors for constipation, for a reason. Council expects us to stay unhealthy and in pain. Or they expect us to flash ourselves publically and illegally. *Council expects us to either become incontinent & constipated, or exercise public nudity by using the park itself, a public space, as a toilet. Aside from indecent exposure being illegal, this also means there is a potatial for increased risk of paedophiles & sexual predators catching children and adults of all genders and ages, with their pants down. So its either illegal indecent exposure to potential predators, or peeing and pooing in our pants. or avoiding the park alltogether. So which is it council, are we meant to illegally expose our genitals to the public for relief, wet ourselves and poo our pants in public, or avoid the park alltogether? I would challenge council to come tell my kids, who naturally want to 'go' straight after any picnic or meal, that they need to either become a public health risk or a risk to their own health. Current investigations show that the council will entertain the possible plans for sanitation/toilets at the park only in the year 2020. It means that whilst coucil was building the new food preparation facilities, they thought they could put off even discussing the need for a toilet for another decade or two. It also means at least another 5 years wait before the council even considers the prioritisation of toilets at the park. Other parks in Moreland that are used much less by residents have toilets, yet this high traffic park is left at the back of the line with none. Excuses given to residents from council have included "no mains access" ( which is compleatly untrue!), and that toilets would "increase the risk of crime" ( which is ridiculous as modern public toilets now come with automatic locking after hours). You know what is a crime? Leaving adults and children of all ages to pee their pants and become constipated and running off to hospital because of everyone in council blaming everyone else for why this primary functioning facility of basic sanitation has not been built. MORELAND COUNCIL - We want you to make this a priority now, as is should have been a priority when the park was redeveloped so many years ago. Santitation is a basic right, and its literally foul and disgusting that in our wonderful beautiful country, in an inner city suburb no less, that we need to watch little kids pee in the sand pit in utter desperation. Coz when you've gotta go, you've gotta go!

Its a disgrace that Moreland council wants us all to cook, eat, drink and play at Jones Reserve park, yet not be able to urinate or defecate. What goes in, must come out Moreland! We needed our toilet a decade ago when you asked us to have picnics and parties here. You need to tell us and our kids and loved one they are to stay constipated, hang out their genitals in public and pee in the park, poo their pants or just stay away and never come out for fresh air. We cant wait til 2020 for you to 'have a conversation about prioritising a toilet', and dont want to listent o any more lies and excuses about apparent 'lack of mains access' which is untrue, or that toilets 'create criminal activity'. Santitation is priority for any council. when you've goptta go, you've gotta go! Support Moreland to get the toilet it desperately needs for health!
