This tag is used when the post or tweet is trying to get people to use Enlightenment style rationality when thinking of hard issues. Primarily for political discussions, it can be contrasted with postmodernist focus on personal stories and anecdotes, most of which are tailored by social engineering to grab and hold people by their emotions. The reliance on emotional motivations can lead to bad decisions - especially in the political arena (as in "hard cases make bad law").
