Since 2008, AIESEC is present in Mauritius and was first introduced in University of Mauritius. AIESEC UoM started with a small amount of members and has now grown to the biggest local committee of AIESEC in Mauritius. During the AFRO XLDS conference in March 2012, conference where all African AIESEC'ers meet to discuss about the future and the achievements of the past year, AIESEC University of Mauritius was rewarded as the Best LC in Southern Africa. This was their first recognition awarded to them by the AIESEC network, since their foundation.
