A very groovy, sensual social dance for couples. Has a very strong kick-drum and its own unique 'clave' similar to Salsa. Usually has a medium tempo. Danced very close. Very romantic lyrics, usually sung in Portuguese, French or Creole. Already popular in Europe and UK and with many Salsa dancers worldwide and just now becoming popular in the US. Also appeals to the Bachata crowd.
