FlyRice is the nickname for professional stunt and aerobatic pilot, Kenny Chiang. Kenny was born in Hong Kong and represents the Special Administrative region & China competing on The World Aerobatic Stage. Kenny is affectionately known as "FlyRice" as the term makes use of the stereotype that local Hong Kongers have difficulties pronouncing the word "Fried" for "Fried Rice". Since rice is the staple diet across China, and because Kenny's role is as a professional Pilot, he is a using the term to describe himself as a flying rice-eater, or put simply "FlyRice". While this pun is easily recognised by westerners and proficient English language speakers in Asia, it is quite subtle and a very tongue-in-cheek nickname Kenny has adopted. Whenever you're supporting Kenny Chiang, and want to tweet about him, or find news surrounding his success, be sure to look out for #FlyRice!
