Sometimes dreams become reality.
In Canada the Truth and Reconciliation Commission recommended a centre for human rights following the human rights abuses suffered by First Nation and Metis children who were forced into residential institutions. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is now a reality and is helping to deal with this legacy and to promote continuing reconciliation.
As in many countries, Ireland also has a history of abuses in Residential Institutions and Laundries. Today, the idea of an Irish Museum for Human Rights is a dream.
