The Relational Data Model refers only to the data model that resulted from the work of E. F. Codd et. al. Sadly, relational terminology was hijacked long ago and has been so commonly misused it is now impossible to overcome the confused thinking, miss-education and miscommunication this has caused. "Alleged relational" should be used to identify whatever guides the design and development of relational pretenders, including SQL and other commercial DBMSs, and the relational straw men attacked by the uninformed.
