A system of farming that does not rely on fossil fuel based inputs. This includes diesel, fertilizer, seed, pesticides and electricity. Instead alternatives are used: biodiesel grown and processed on the farm, animal and green manures and compost, saved seed, no pesticides and solar and micro wind turbines for electricity.
