The Truth About DVIRs: The Key to Road Ready Equipment is a video created by the Intermodal Association of North America. Filing out a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, or DVIR, is the single best way to help make sure that the next intermodal chassis you pick up is ready for the road. If you see something, report it. It’s the responsibility of drivers to look out for each other and submit the DVIR to make sure equipment get fixed. Don’t forget, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requires that each driver report any known problems with the equipment when it is returned.
