1.Until and unless there is a branch of government assigned to track horses as they do cows and pigs, noting which meds they receive, and banning extralabel use of toxic drugs for horses, ensuring that withholding times are enforced, inspections and SUPERVISING all aspects of horse slaughter USA Horses are NOT safe for human consumption. 2. Anyone who owns a horse knows full well that the conditions surrounding horse slaughter are absolutely NOT necessary, NOT dignified, NOT humane. Yet AQHA maintains they advocate and support horse slaughter from a humane perspective. Vets for Equine Welfare, AQHA members against horse slaughter and the REST of the horse owners out there despise this MONEY GRUBBING business model which AQHAPAC ensures perpetuates.

@AQHA breeds 100K horses MORE per year than all other breeds. They strongly believe in horse slaughter IN SPITE of the fact that USA horses are governed via FDA as COMPANION animals and NOT food animals. Therefore they receive tons of extra label and off label medications UNSAFE for human consumption. US Horses are NOT subject to livestock guidelines, no withholding, no inspections, no testing. THEY ARE NOT FIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION yet @AQHA pays our legislators to vote FOR horse 'processing' (horse slaughter is NOT kind, it is a horses's worst nightmare, therefore they do NOT use the word). DIrty ethics, dirty money. Shame on them and shame on the politicians who don't do the MATH involved regarding AQHA monies and overbreeding. 70-80% of all USA slaughter horses are quarter horses.

HR1942 is a bill in this session of Congress, pending in committee. 210 members of Congress agree our uninspected, unregulated and FDA illegal horsemeat trade endangers the food supply. Horses as companion animals receive extra label and off label drugs - NOT approved for food animals. In fact, racehorses who receive medications daily frequently end up in the slaughter pipeline and can become human food within days of their last race. Lifetime of medications for performance does NOT make for good food. Note : Kentucky Derby winner "Ferdinand" when at end of his career was slaughtered in Japan - NOT SAFE FOOD.

Florida is a very large and wonderful watershed, this fluvial state known and named for its flora and fauna is environmentally very fragile. Our water is critical, it is sacred and fracking is NOT safe for Florida.
