Platform on Agricultural Risk Management (PARM) has been set up to support the development of holistic risk management in agriculture and to facilitate knowledge exchange in this field. The initial focus of PARM is on Africa. The overall objective of PARM is to contribute to sustainable agricultural growth,reduce food insecurity, and improve livelihoods of rural and poor farming households in developing countries. The specific objective of PARM is to strengthen agricultural risk management (ARM) in developing countries, in a holistic manner and on a demand-driven basis. The goal is that ARM becomes an institutional component of agricultural policy in beneficiary LDCs and LMICs and interested RECs/AU.PARM has secured funding from the Agence Fran?aise de D?veloppement (AFD), the European Commission (EC), the Government of Italy, and IFAD. With this funding the PARM Secretariat was established at IFAD in December 2013.
