The Be Safe app was originally developed to provide assistance to youth in London and Middlesex County. The program now includes 13 municipalities across Ontario, including Haldimand and Norfolk. The free app allows youth to make a safety plan, informs them about local mental health and addiction resources, and provides suggestions of appropriate community resources based on their level of need (identified through the use of a decision aid). The app is available for download now for any Apple or Android mobile device at mindyourmind.ca/besafe.

A Youth Suicide Prevention Initiative in Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant. The Youth Suicide Prevention Campaign, built around the tagline “Hope More” (in opposition to feelings of being “hopeless”) was developed in partnership with the Youth Advisory Group made up of youth from our region and the Suicide Prevention Network.
