#weseeyou17 is the hashtag for the November 2, 2017, bisexual health conference, "We See You: Countering the Invisibility of Bisexual Health," hosted by the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and co-sponsored by the EDIT program of Northwestern University's Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing, the Black Treatment Action Network (BTAN), Project Elevate, the Regional Resource Network Program for Region 5 of HIV.gov, and Project RSP. The conference aim is to explore the relationships of racial equity and social justice in bisexual communities. The conference will be a platform to investigate the challenges and opportunities of HIV risk, accessing PrEP, and healthcare services. Moreover, it’s about effectively addressing the intense stigma, trauma and discrimination attached to bisexual individuals. This is particularly important as we advance policies designed to increase access to care and build capacity of providers and to advance competency. The attendees will interact directly with expert speakers and examine current bisexual health services, best practices and how multiple needs are addressed for successful engagement in care. Speakers include Khafre Kujichagulia Abif of the Southern AIDS Coalition @cycleforfreedom, Dr. Herukhuti of Goddard College @DrHerukhuti, Dr. Lauren Beach of Northwestern University @laurenbbeach, Jim Pickett of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago @AIDSChicago, and Greg Storms of the Center on Halsted @nosferat29.
