Reserve Bank of India is perhaps one of the very few public organizations in India that are not subjected to any independent audit from the accountability point of view. The annual statutory audit of Reserve Bank of India merely focuses on the compliance with accounting standards. But the much more relevant aspect of the expenditure of public money, its justification, etc., are totally ignored. There exists a very strong case for a regular audit of Reserve Bank of India by CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General of India). AuditRBI is my effort to bring this issue to the attention of the people of India.
