Sir William Blake Richmond R.A. was a prolific portraitist, landscape artist, painter of mythological subjects, and sculptor. He designed and executed the mosaic decorations in the Choir of St Paul's Cathedral in London. One of the greatest artists of his time, his name has since fallen into obscurity despite the remarkable legacy of his work.
