To celebrate World Rivers Day on Sunday, September 28th @OttRiverkeeper and @beausallnatural announce the #GoldenStein contest. Simply take a selfie with the Ottawa River in the background. Tweet it, post it on Facebook and or share it on Instagram, along with the #GoldenStein and #BeausOktoberfest hashtags. Four lucky winners will receive coveted #GoldenStein prize packages ? a pair of weekend passes to see such great bands as The Strumbellas, Radio Radio, Tokyo Police Club and Joel Plaskett Emergency at BEAU?S Oktoberfest, which takes place Friday October 3 and Saturday October 4 at the fairgrounds in Vankleek Hill, plus round-trip bus transportation from Ottawa. Lederhosen and dirndl dresses are optional, but bonus points will be awarded for zany alpine-hat-wearing oompa loompas since the virtual #GoldenStein contest is loosely modeled after Willy Wonka?s Golden Ticket contest. World Rivers Day celebrates the world?s waterways. It highlights the many values of our rivers, strives to increase public awareness, and encourages the improved stewardship of all rivers around the world.
