The Roastaire is a closed-loop coffee roasting design that means no emissions are produced for 85% of the roast cycle. The air is recycled, the scrubbed of the VOC's and reintroduced to the roasting chamber. This approach to roasting means cleaner air for the community where the technology exists.

Often coffee roasting creates significant emissions based as the hot air is used just one time during the roasting process. This hot air is put into the atmosphere and when roasting in urban areas, many complaints from residents occurs due to the acrid odors. The Roastaire is a closed-loop alternative, which means it reuses the hot air continuously, scrubbing the VOC's continually through the internal emissions process. This closed-loop concept means that no odor is emitted for 85% of the roast cycle, which means better air quality for residents in the urban locations the technology is being used.
