Campaign for Equality in Technology ? is an initiative calling for technology and knowledge-based companies to create proactive employment practices that increase the representation of three designated groups: women, African Americans and Hispanics. We?re asking that industry leaders in technology enact reasonable accommodations to remove employment barriers faced by members of the three designated minority groups. Employers are also asked to institute positive policies for the hiring, training, retention, and promotion of members of the designated groups. Examples of positive policies include recruitment efforts at all female institutions and historically black colleges and their communities, job advertisements in a Spanish-language and African-American publications, or apprentice programs directed toward these designated group.
