"Twitter Gulag Defense Network" refers to a group that combats Twitter trolls who are out to disrupt peaceful conversations or deliberately send user accounts into suspension by flooding pages with "spam". A "gulager" is an individual or a group who post offensive and inappropriate messages on the social networking site in order to spur the automatic spam identification algorithm into blocking accounts that are "supposedly" destructive. This rude and cowardly practice is often used by some people as a means of last resort when their efforts to terrorize the public fail. The #TGDN provides users with guides on fielding Gulagers and how to handle them so their malicious intentions are thwarted.
