Twitter Seals Komli Deal For Southeast Asia

Twitter has been increasing its reach to different parts of the globe, the most recent effort being a partnership with Komli Media to handle advertising sales in five Southeast Asian countries. The Mumbai-based group will be handling Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore. The approach will involve training programs and educational tools that will further teach individuals and groups in the aforementioned nations on using Twitter ads to optimize sales and operations. Komli is one of the biggest internet adveritsing companies in Asia. It has raised $60 million in funding from different groups like Helion Venture Partners and Nexus Venture Partners over the past years. Half of social media users on a global scale are actually from Asia, numbering 800 million. More than half are from Singapore and there are 44 million social media users in Indonesia. These users get on social media to guide them when making purchases, getting in touch with loved ones from other parts of the globe and sharing information on major events and global issues. Komli Media Southeast Asia managing director Akshay Garg shared how excited the team is to collaborate with Twitter. The two groups can create new opportunities that will specifically cater to people in Southeast Asia. They expect social media development to increase tremendously in the region, considering how popular Twitter is in these countries. The advertising products from Twitter are also used widely in other parts of the world, like Latin America, the United Kingdom and Japan. VP of international revenue of Twitter Shailesh Rao said: ?We?re really excited to be working with Komli as we enter into Southeast Asia, which is one of Twitter?s fastest-growing markets.? Rao added how Twitter observes a large interest particularly from advertisers who see the value of the different Twitter ad products to improve their relationships with clients and boost business and sales. Included in the list of ad products from Twitter are Promoted Tweets, Promoted Trends and Promoted Accounts. In the past, Twitter has partnered with Facebook and Zynga. Twitter continually works with different social media groups and other internet bodies to provide opportunities to online users everywhere.
